Alpine Cutie

I am having a GIVEAWAY !!! Click here to check it out!

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
Ours was low key.
Dinner at home with the kids and just relaxing.
Of course, LOTS of Chocolate...

Here is the cute little dresser that I gave you a sneak peak of yesterday.
I think it's an Alpine Cutie!
It reminds me of something you would see in the Swiss Alps.  I think I am going to take it up to the Mountains where we have a home in Colorado.
It will be perfect in one of the guest rooms.
Here is what it looked like before:
I bought it probably 9 years ago at a discount store.  The red doesn't really match my decor anymore, but I hated to part with it.
It's been down in the guest room all this time...
Sooooooo, Since I needed the practice with the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint that I bought, I thought that I would experiment with the dresser.  I taped up the sides and the top where I wanted to keep the design.
I found some paint left over from my daughters room, Benjamin Moore Waterfall, and I mixed it with Paris Gray to tone down the color and mute it a bit.
I painted the Old White around the border and went over the flowers with a mixture of the blue and the white.
I also painted the indent in the legs with Old White.  I waxed the dresser with clear wax and then a mixture of Dark wax and Clear wax.  I distressed it in a few places until the red showed thru and then waxed it again.
So what do you think of my Alpine Cutie?  Can't you just picture her up in a Swiss Chalet?

Beaux R'eves!
XO Cindy

You did a great job reworking this so that it would work in your home again, Cindy! You were very brave to go over the flowers, too. That part would have had me frozen.

It will be a perfect piece for your mountain home! I love that you found a place to use a piece that you love! The new paint job is excellent! You will have to take a picture of it in it's new home!

Cindy, your Alpine Cuties turned out great. I bet it will look so "cute" in your Colorado home. I am so interested in the Annie Sloan paint and would like to work with it but have nothing at my house to paint. Think I am going to look at my Dad's house next time I go visit. Thanks for sharing your cutie.
