Easy Winter Floral Arrangement

So are your decorations all up
and are you all ready for the holidays?
What is left on your list
besides the last minute gift giving?
Are you entertaining friends or family?
I have the perfect centerpiece
for your holiday table
or in my case
 entry table floral arrangement.
Here is what you need.
A vessel or container, floral foam,
winter greenery, pears or apples,
flowers (I didn't end up using the flowers)
and a central ornament
or what I used,
a white glittery dollar store house.
I soaked the floral foam in water
and put it into a plastic container.
I cut three bamboo skewers
the same size and placed
the glitter house on top.
I tested it for height and then removed it.
The glitter house was made
with Martha Stewart glitter and glue last year.
I found these little houses at
the dollar store
and glammed them up.
I used the box to catch the extra glitter.
You can see my post HERE.
I had purchased a few winter garlands
at Costco to use outside
and I had some greens left over.
I placed the greens into the floral foam.
Don't worry,
it looks random now
but it will be beautiful when it is done.
I put the glitter house
back on it's stilts in the middle.
I then started to add the pears
into the arrangement.
Just poke a bamboo skewer
into the bottom and cut it to size.
It's starting to take shape!
With the pears in place,
I added some tiny pine cones to the mix.
I tried the white flowers
but it just didn't look right.
I filled in the bare spots with more greenery.
You could add some silver or gold ornaments
if you like or some ribbon.
I sprinkled some glittery snow on the top to finish it off.
All together it took me less than a half hour.
I think this is the most creative thing
I have done since we put the house up for sale!
It felt good to do a project just for fun!
And there you go...
The greens and the pears should last
past Christmas as long as I remember
to keep water in it!

Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves,

Natural Thanksgiving Centerpiece

I wanted to try a more rustic look this year
so I created this easy
Thanksgiving Centerpiece
using branches and leaves from my yard.
All of the items used (except the candles)
are Estate Sale finds that I have been gathering
together these past few months.
I found this great rustic candle holder for under $20.00
at a recent sale.
This is something that I have always wanted but never wanted to pay full price.
I bet you could make one easily out of barnwood.
I layered my burlap runner on top of a warm plaid
Pendleton Throw in caramel, rusts and browns.
I cut a few branches from my evergreen trees and laid them along the sides of the candleholder.
I love the way the pine looks against the burlap
and the rustic wood.
I added some other greens from my blue spruce and some juniper too.  I know you can see my mixed matched candles in these pictures.  I scrounged around to try to come up with 12 but I finally gave up and headed out to Michaels.
Don't you hate that when you are all cozy in your sweats with
your hair up and no makeup
and you find out you have to go out?  UGH!!!
Well, today they got me as I was, no makeup and everything!
For more of a Fall look I tucked in some oak leaves and other leaves from the yard but without them this would work for Christmas or Wintertime.
I placed some apples and cranberries around because I really want Apple Pie and my mom makes
THE BEST cranberry sauce!
But I'll wait a few weeks I guess.
I love seeing all of the candles lit.
So pretty and so simple.
I am working on the whole Thanksgiving tablescape that I will share with you next week.
I'm having fun with this rustic look.
I even tried using green apples instead of candles.
You could even core out the apples and put candles in them.
It's beginning to feel winter-like almost around here.
I actually had to put a coat on the other day.
Thanksgiving will be here before you know it!
So many things to do between now and then.
If you find yourself running short of time why not try my simple rustic centerpiece.

Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves
XO Cindy
