One A Day ~ Organizing My Drawers and Cupboards

I know it looks pretty on the outside
but lurking inside this built in hutch
is a mountain of disorganization.
The drawers are stuffed with who know what!
I started thinking this week
that when we move it's going to be quite a job
to go through all of the cupboards and
drawers to purge and pack.
So, I decided that in order to keep my sanity
I would work on "One A Day".
Tackling one drawer or cupboard
a day is certainly doable.
 Drawer Number One:
What is all that stuff?
Oh My!
I took everything out and placed it in a bin.
I had a trash sack for throw away items
and another basket for things I would be relocating
to the proper place (like stray tools).
I had this organizing insert in
another drawer and I was not utilizing it properly.
You can find a lot of these types of organizers
at Target, Walmart or even the Dollar Store.
And, everything went back in
that I use on a daily basis.
YAY!
First drawer complete!
A lot of the items in that drawer were
Dog related, so I put them in the basket
I had in the Laundry Room.
Now I have all of those things at my fingertips.
I also have this basket sitting
on the counter next to the phone.
It keeps everything off of the counter
like charging phones, ipads, glasses,
stray mail, pens and pencils.
I liked the plaid for the holidays
but I wanted to change it out for Spring.
Besides, the basket needed to be cleaned out too.
I found this in my upstairs office closet.
I think Miss Beaux used it at one time.
Much better!

Wish me luck in my self challenge
of
One A Day!

What's in your junk drawer?

More Organizing and Refreshing with Baskets

Happy Saturday!
If you read my post yesterday
you know that my goal for 2015 is to
"Refresh" my interior spaces
without spending a ton of money
or doing a lot of remodeling, of course.
I showed you my Laundry Room refresh
with the new baskets as my inspiration.
Well, I am still at it
but this time in the downstairs office.
I've always loved the look of baskets
on the book case shelves for organization.

Baskets can contain the everyday clutter
we seem to bring into our lives.

And, if you search around
you can find baskets on sale,
at yard sales or Estate Sales.
Some of my favorite baskets
I've scored at Estate Sales!

Covered boxes are fun too
and look so organized!
Just remember to label your boxes
or you'll be searching in every box
for what you need.

They don't all have to be the same or matching.
Here they have used different baskets
and boxes all in the same color way.
I found these pretty baskets at Michaels
during their sale.
They are the same color as my desk chair.
I like that they sort of modernize
the space when placed next to
all of my Vintage accessories.
It's handy to have things
that you use all of the time
neatly stored at arms length.
I even have a basket/tray on my desk
to contain magazines and books,
my reading glasses
(I have a pair or two in every room)
and paper clips.
I feel pretty good about my progress
toward my goals for 2015!
I plan to add more to the office
and organize with baskets in other rooms too!

Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves,
