Bringing Spring Indoors

Well, we got hit with some snow
this weekend how about you?
It's about now that I am craving
a little Spring inside (and outside).
I have been trying to have fresh flowers
around the house for showings
but it gets a little expensive
not to mention the time spent at the store...
So, I have looked for ways to make my flower
purchases last longer.
These cute orchids are from Trader Joe's.
I think that they have pretty good prices on flowers.
I put three of them in my blue and white pot.
I nestled them in with brown filler
that you use for gifts and shipping.
I kept them in the clay pots
so that I can take them out for watering.
There are clear inserts inside the clay pots.
The great thing about the clear inserts
is that you can take them out
and look to see if they need watering.
If they are turning a silvery gray
then they need some water.
I put Spanish moss on top
and you would never know
that there are three pots inside...
And they smell good too!
In the kitchen I planted some daffodils
from Trader Joe's
(they were a little over $2.00 each)
in my white bowl.
I brought some rocks in from outside
and put them in the middle of the pot.
I spread some potting soil in to fill in the bowl.
Just like Spring inside!
I took down all of my
copper pots above the window.
I am really doing all that I can to
declutter and sell this house!
The Forsythia are starting to bloom
that I forced inside last week.
Of course, nothing says Spring like tulips!
Remember to only fill your container
one third of the way with water.
That's the way they like it.
Uh Huh, Uh Huh.
And if you wake up one morning
and your tulips are drooping over
and hitting the table, don't panic!
Just take them out,
cut a little off the end of the stems
and put them back in fresh water.
They will Spring back up in no time...
These guys are willing to sleep all winter
and not wake up until Spring!

Until Next Time,

Pretty flowers. Love the daffodils in the white pot. We got ice yesterday and it is trying to melt today. I hope so because the really cold weather gets here Thursday.
