Welcome Spring!

 I've had ENOUGH winter!
And we have only had about 2 inches of snow this year.
Can you tell that I am a transplanted Californian?
I finally bit the Bullet and painted Chalkboard Paint onto a Silver Platter that I found at an Estate Sale
 for$10.00.
It is now my absolute Favorite!!!
I have created a semi-tablescape although  I mostly want to show you my recent finds.
 Is that cheating?
I found this cute little Bunny Candle at Tuesday Morning last week.  I like how natural looking he is on top of the moss nest from Nell Hill's.
Huge Score!
I went to two Estate Sales last week and picked up a set of these Hummingbird dishes by American Atelier for $25.oo.  I'll be using them in a full tablescape soon!
And, I scored 12 Bordallo Pinheiro plates at another Estate Sale for $39.00.
I always kind of get the creeps when I go to an Estate Sale.  But my dear friend Kristy always assured me
that "they just downsized and went to Florida!".
At least they are assured that their things have found a loving new "home".
Does it count that I "found" these Milk Glass pieces while cleaning out my Pantry?  See Here
They belonged to Mr. Beaux's Grandmother.
This sweet teacup was a Mother's Day gift from Miss Beaux.  She picked it out at Anthropologie.
 She knows what I like!
See how the leaves repeat on the saucer
 and the Cabbage plate...
I have no idea how old these plates are but they sure are pretty resting atop my Butler's Pantry white dishes.
Black checked napkins are from ??
The flowers I bought last week are still hanging around.
 I LOVE Costco flowers!
They are the freshest and the best price!

Until Next Time...

Chalkboard Crazed

I admit that I am addicted to chalkboards.  Maybe it all started when I was in second grade and the teacher let me stay after and erase the board and bang erasers outside.  Hey! That was an Honor!
Or maybe it stems from when I was a teacher.  I remember my first day with my first class writing Mrs. Beaux on the chalkboard...

I even have a file on pinterest full of chalkboards.

both from Pinterest

This was my first chalkboard attempt.
Here is a project that my daughter started and I finished.  (She got the flu and I felt bad for her).  We magnetized the board first and then painted chalkboard paint over it.  It's hanging in her bathroom for easy use.
And here is my latest Chalkboard project.  I painted the back of the pantry door last week.  Don't look too close at where my dog has scratched the trim paint off trying to open the pantry door.
Hey, she knows where the good stuff is!
I love it!
Mr. Beaux was skeptical at first and Miss Beaux couldn't wait to break out the brushes (she's such a visionary).  Click Here to see my recent Kitchen Tour

But, now he's the first to write needed items on the list!

OK, I'm not quite here yet... Although I adore this.... But maybe soon....

Winter White Buffet

My house feels neglected now that Christmas is over, so I am going through room by room and replenishing what has been ravaged by the Christmas take down.

Today I worked on my Built in Hutch that is next to our Fridge.

Here is what it looked like Before:

It seems to be a catch-all for clutter, mail and junk.  I've had the stemware in the chicken wire cabinets since we redid the Kitchen (after a flood... that's a whole other long post).  But I was never really happy with it there but didn't do anything about it.

I thought this Phone Charger Station was a good idea but not one member of the family charges their phone here.  So OUT it goes!

Don't you love a Clean Slate, A Blank Canvas?

Here is my Collection of "All Things White".  Some of these were just returned to me by a friend I had them loaned out to.  Do you share things like that?  It makes it fun when you can swap the things you are tired of, when they return they seem brand new!

I had a Birdcage from Eons ago down in the Basement Storage Area.  OK, one thing I LOVE about the midwest is the Basements!  I could probably make a whole bedroom out of our Storage Area!  Anyway, I painted it white with some paint I had around...

Here is the finished Product.  I am quite pleased with the look.

Tiny projects included:  Painting this plate (that someone had given us a while back) with Chalkboard Paint; Putting Typography Numerals on the Mint Julip white glasses with Modge Podge; Spray Painting the small Bucket behind the Silverware white; repotting the African Violet into the teacup; and painting the Birdcage.

I've decided to put corks into the birdcage as nothing else will fit thru the tiny door.  I had better start Drinking!!!

I tossed my numbered Napkins from my Countdown to New Years Post into the Bucket.  You can view the post by clicking on the link here.

I kept my Rooster that I purchased at the Mission Road Antique Mall a while back along with another little Rooster from the Design Center.  The Tole painted piece is actually a cardboard placemat that I picked up at a Consignment Store.  The colors really blend with my Hearth Room Furniture.  At $5.00 I couldn't pass it up!

My little lovebirds were a great find at a Home Tour Boutique.  I love to go to all the local Home Tours put on by the Woman's Clubs.  So much Fun!

OK, on to the next Space!

Happy Thursday!
