Kansas City Dream Homes

Mr. Beaux and I had a lovely Valentine's Day
and spent the night at a beautiful historic hotel
in the Country Club Plaza area.
One of my favorite things to do
is look at beautiful homes
and I was perusing the homes for sale
nearby that morning on my iphone app.
I told you it was one of my favorite things to do...
I came across this beauty!
I thought it would be fun to do a weekly
or bimonthly series on Kansas City Homes.
Kansas City has a rich history of architecture
that I feel is kept a secret!
Well, I want to share it with you...
One of the first things that we do when visitors
from out of state come to our neck of the woods
is to drive down to the Ward Parkway area.
It is full of homes just like this one shown.
Our friends and relatives are always amazed
that Kansas has an area such as this.
I guess they were picturing wheat fields and cows...
Let's go inside...
This home is currently for sale,
I'll save the price until the end...
It was built in 1926 when J.C. Nichols
was developing the area across
the state line from Missouri.
I believe this home was built in a French Eclectic Style...
This home was built for the "affluent" of Kansas City
and boasts 5 bedrooms and 5 full and 2 half baths.
Much of the character of the home remained intact
when it was renovated by Gene Fritzel
around 2006 from what I can gather.
The listing states that it has
an expansive kitchen and hearth room...
with 20 foot vaulted ceilings.

This living area leads to a pretty sunroom.
I'm loving that chandy!
Even the sunroom has a pretty chandelier.
Here is where I will be taking my morning coffee
thank you very much...
Overlooking the Mission Hills Country Club golf course.
I'd take some green like this right now!
What a huge balcony area!
They don't show the master bedroom
but it is supposed to have a large master bath
and a "massive" third level closet.
It also has a sauna and a safe room
with bank vault doors...
I'm sure that the H's stand for something...
The billiards room and second kitchen
is on this lower level.
I like how them added a little bit of
contemporary in the mix.
A great space for entertaining...
See how it opens all the way to the outside...
The media room and second kitchen...
The billiards room with some kind
of dead animal on the pool table.
Maybe that's a sport for the VERY rich...
Hit the ball in the mouth of the bear???
I hope you enjoyed the tour.
This "Little House On The Prairie"
can be yours for $4,395,000.00!
You can see the original listing
HERE.

Until Next Time,

5 Minute Spring Wreath

This project is kinda like
a Sandra Lee recipe...
It's Semi-Homemade...
70 percent store bought
and 30 percent my own touch.
Here is what I started out with...
I found these pretty lavender wreaths
at Home Goods a few weeks ago.
It is seriously dangerous
for me to go in that store!
I always come home with more
than I was intending to buy!
I was lucky to find two of these wreaths.
I hung them up for a week or so
but I wanted to embellish
them a bit to fill them out.
I made these Spring Baskets last year
but I took them apart to use the baskets for fall...
But I still had all of the flowers...
I just poked them into the existing wreath
and wired them if I needed to...
I love yellow and lavender together for Spring.
I think it really took me
all of five minutes
to doll these up.

Easy!
Let's see the Before and After...

They are going to look GREAT
with SNOW on them this week!!!

Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves,
