Playing with Open Shelving

I love the concept of Open Shelving
in the Kitchen.
Farmhouse Kitchen by Philadelphia Media & Bloggers Sara Bates

But I am not ready to commit.
So I have been playing around
with the concept of Open Shelving
using my Built in Hutch.
It really kind of happened by accident.
But don't a lot of happy things
happen by accident?
I had created my Easter Brunch table
and I wanted to keep the dishes out
until Easter Morning.
I moved some things around
and put them on the shelves on my hutch.
I liked them there so much
that they have just been hanging
around for a while.
But that is the way I like
to decorate in my house.
I try something out for a while
and see if I like it.
Moving something here,
switching something out there...

Until I like the composition.
Or my mood changes...
I have to be honest with you
and tell you that this counter does
NOT
always look this clean.
It is often a dumping spot
for mail, purses, dog leashes...
You have a spot like that don't you?
But I really am trying to get things organized
around here
before my family arrives to visit.
Stay clean please!
Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves

Such a pretty display. I played with the 'open' concept by removing a set of cupboard doors. I lived it so much, I removed another. Another may be slated to come down. I can see my pretty dishes and they are so easily accessible.
LUV, luv your built in hutch and your sweet display.
Happy Mother's day weekend!

Looks great - and with such a perfect unit such as that you needn't open any cupboards! I enjoy gazing at other's open shelves in the kitchen but I wouldn't dream of it for a number of reasons. I think you have the totally right idea with just getting that look right THERE - the end. : - )

Have a wonderful weekend.

I love your display and it's a perfect place to have fun with different arrangements. I can see the attraction to open shelving but with this lovely display area I don't think I'd bother with any other. Have a great Mothers Day!

Your hutch looks great. I love the idea of open shelving but I feel like in my house things get dusty so fast. I'm always moving things around in our house and tweaking here and there. One day my husband is going to come home and not know where anything is! Enjoy! have a wonderful weekend/

Love your open shelving inspirations! and your dishes are perfect. I'd be switching them around so I could see them too!

P.S. I have several spots that seem to become dumping grounds, I am so jealous if you only have one! lol

I like open shelves as well -- and have some in the kitchen -- in the island. If it's stuff you use all the time they do't really get dirty. I like what you did with your space. And sometimes accidents are perfect!

Your built-in hutch is perfect as open shelving! I really like the way you have everything arranged. Yes, we all have those spots that collect clutter even while we sleep.
