Fall on the Front Porch

Yesterday I showed you all of the fun things
at Nell Hill's Fall Open House.
I was smitten with her baskets for fall
so I decided to use my baskets again
instead of a wreath this year.
I really feel like I cheated on this project.
Mr. Beaux was watching the Chiefs game
and I know it only took me
a few plays to finish these.
I actually had smaller baskets
that I had used on the door
last year that were prearranged.
I shoved those down into my new baskets
and added flowers around the outside.
I tucked a bow to the side
and hung them on the front door.
I found these mums at Lowe's
with the cute "Welcome" sign on them.
I know you can't see it,
but there are two adorable squirrels holding the sign.
It is very clear to me
that my next project is
sanding the doors and re-staining them.
The summer heat and sun
have done a number on the poor guys!
Not that I am trying to point out
all of my faults
but let's add painting
the light fixture to the list!
 I planted flowering cabbage plants
in the windowsill planters
along with some pansies.
The pansies were on clearance
because they were a little leggy.
But that's OK with me,
they will do just fine.
 I set up some pumpkins
and more mums by my bench.
The pillow is actually an outdoor pillow
that I just turned around
and pinned a sunflower to the front of it.
Of course, the blanket won't stay outside
but I sure love the colors!
Looks like a nice place to sit
and watch my Bubbies (fur babies)
while they sniff around outside.
 Thanks for coming over.
How's Fall coming along over at your place?
Don't be a stranger!
Until Next Time,
B'eaux R'eves

My New Doughbowl~Estate Sale Style

OK Everyone, I know I must be the LAST person in Blogland to own a Doughbowl!
Trust me I've been dreaming of owning my own
doughbowl for quite some time.
I've even decorated it in my mind for every season.
(Hey, I redecorate every room I enter in my mind and I KNOW that you do it too!)
I have passed them up a few times just because I have a hard time spending over $100 for an old piece of wood.
But this week was my Lucky week!
I spied on at an Estate Sale that started on Thursday.
It was the first one I hit on my rounds.
There she was waiting in the Basement for me!
It was $65 and came with the Pinecones.
Hey, I'll take them!
It was a tad dusty so I polished her up a bit.
Ohhhhhh, Looking pretty!
I guess if you were going to knead dough in this you should use Mineral Oil or Almond Oil.
I am only going to use it for decoration purposes so I used what was handy.
Wouldn't it look wonderful with Hydrangeas
in the Spring or Summer?
Or, Simple Candles anytime of year?
Or, A Harvest full of gourds and leaves.
Yep, I thrilled to finally own a Doughbowl!
And I saved some Dough too!

PS. Come back to see what else I scored this week!  And, a tour of my Fall Kitchen and Hearth Room.

Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves

Easy Fall Floral

Hi Everyone, hope you had a great weekend!
We were busy with Miss Beaux's homecoming dance and a few things around the house.  I was supposed to be recovering from my Sinus Surgery but I'm a hard one to keep down.  Yes, I had it on Thursday and everything went great.  Wish me luck that it works to cure all of these nasty sinus infections.  I know there are a lot of you
out there with the same symptoms.

But let's talk about fun Fall stuff, OK?

Here's an easy Fall floral arrangement that you can put together in just a few minutes.
 Who doesn't love that?
I made this for my Fall Buffet table that I showed you last week.  I chose to make a variated massed arrangement.  You can do this with any kind of flowers that you cut into varying heights.

Materials needed:  I picked out some flowers at Hobby Lobby to put this together. Make sure that you go when everything is Half Off!  It's crazy to buy this stuff at full price!  I chose cattails, some other soft  yellow grass type plant, some some mums and long grass fronds from our yard.
They kind of fluff out after you cut them.
I just gathered the grasses together and stuck them into some floral foam inside my white ironstone pitcher.
Layer with the cattails.  Funny (kind of) story.  I left the house to drive my daughter to work and when I came home "Someone" had eaten some of the cattails right out of the bag!  Hmmmmmm, who would do that?
And why did they pick the MOST expensive plant in the bunch?
So I had fewer cattails!  But it all worked out.
Next Layer in the other grasses and scatter the mums around the edges.
There you go~ Easy Fall Floral.

Until Next Time,
Beaux Reves,
XO Cindy
