Friendly Village Dishes Four Ways

I love my Friendly Village dishes
that I found at an Estate Sale for a steal.
I get happy when the holidays
roll around so that I can bring them
out of dish storage.
They are perfect on their own
but I also like to pair them with
other dishes to mix it up a bit.
One year I used my Aqua dishes as an accent.
I really loved the way
the aqua picked up the colors in the dishes.
Another one of my favorite place settings
was this rustic table with plaid napkins,
natural elements
and acorn frames used as chargers.
This was such a fun table
that I might replicate it sometime this year.
For a more traditional setting
all of the bling came out of the cabinets.
I used my best silver, crystal goblets and
fancy monogrammed napkins.

The dishes alone are so captivating
with their rural country scenes.
I never get tired of looking at them.
This year I wanted
a more casual look to the table.
I used my green cabbage plates
as an accent and black and white buffalo checked
napkins to keep it less formal.
I loved the way the buffalo check
popped on the white tablecloth.
The green cabbage plates
really brought out the green
in the leaves around the edges of the plate.
Silverware from World Market
seemed like the perfect match for this table.
I placed flowers in mason jars
and wrapped the jars with burlap ribbon
for an elegantly rustic touch.
I lined four of the vases down the center of the table.
With my turkey platter in the middle it was the perfect, simple, casual table!

How many ways have you used your heirloom dishes?

Until Next Time,
