The Next Chapter

The Blog has been quiet
for a couple of weeks but for good reason...
Mr. Beaux and I had long talks
when we were up at the Colorado house
and we decided then that it was time
to put the main house back on the market.
The house is just too large for us
and the upkeep is too much.
So, we contacted our Realtors
and we have been running,
or sprinting
as it may be, ever since.
The house will be listed on the MLS tomorrow.
Pictures were taken on Friday
so that was a huge deadline for me.
We had done a lot of work when we listed last year
so there was less to do,
but it is still a huge undertaking.
I'll be showing you a lot of pictures this week
but I thought I would start with the dining room today.
My goal at the beginning of the year
was to "Lighten and Brighten" all of my interior.
I wanted to recover my dining room chairs
but something else always seemed more important
and it dropped to the bottom of the list.
I found some great Captain's chairs at an Estate Sale
but when I got there they were already sold.
Sooooooo, I ordered these chairs
from Joss And Main.
Of course they came very quickly in the mail
and I am not complaining....
They just came one day too late.
We found them on our doorstep Saturday
and pictures were on Friday.
Oh well, I love them just the same.
Here is what it looked like
when they took the photos on Friday.
I really think the skirted chairs
lighten up the space.
The chairs were only $93.00 each
which is less than a Parson's chair
would be at any other major retailer.
We had to put them together but that was easy.
The chair seats came with  a hidden Velcro panel
that held the legs and the hardware.
Pretty sneaky...
After the assembly and some ironing
they were ready to rock and roll!
The best thing is that they are so neutral
that they can fit in most anywhere.
I love the Linen color
and the texture that they have.
Well worth the price!
On the back of the chair
the skirt is secured with buttons
to give it a polished look.
And, they give me extra seating for Thanksgiving!
Stay tuned for more changes around the house.
And wish me luck!
Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves,

First I send best sell wishes for your beautiful home. The chairs did make a difference I still get Wowed!! how one item with a different fabric can change the whole essence of a room. Can I ask you a question? i noticed your staircase is curved like mine ...I have lived in my home for 7 years and have never hung anything on the wall leading up. This curve has stumped me but i see you have beautiful pictures on yours and how did you hang them on the curve? We tried but the frame stuck out. Have a great week!

Good luck Cindy. I know it was a big decision. I'm going to miss seeing that house. I'm sure you will miss it as well. I don't think you had to do a thing to it.it's beautiful just as it is. Love the chairs. I thought about getting those a few years ago and didn't. I thought my cat and dog would mess up skirts rubbing against them. Have a good week.

I'm sure your home will sell in no time.. it's stunning! I hope you will be taking all of your gorgeous furnishings with you. Your home is lovely but, with any home I imagine the up keep must be a lot. My home isn't very big and I feel like I can't keep up with that either.

We are wanting to do the same thing...our house is really too big for just the two of us and the upkeep is really taking up too much of our time....hopefully in a few years we can put it on the market....Good luck!
