No, I'm not decorating for Christmas!
I just don't have a lot of pictures of my kitchen sink...
So here is the problem.
The small spout in the picture above
is our reverse osmosis water system.
It started leaking from the top a few weeks ago
so we turned the whole thing off.
We had a plumber over for a few things
and this was one of the things
on the list to check out.
We have to have everything in good working
order as the house is up for sale.
The plumbers checked out the system
and diagnosed the problem as a leak
in the actual faucet fixture
on the top of the counter.
Oh boy!
Dollar signs were flashing in my eyes
as they were explaining how much it would cost
to replace the system...
We put the R/O system in when
we built the house and we used it quite a bit.
When all of the kids were at home we refused
to buy bottled water...
I was on a green kick for sure!
I still don't buy much bottled water
but we didn't miss the R/O system
while it was down either...
The plumber suggested swapping out
the R/O system for a simple soap dispenser.
I'm telling you it was a stroke of pure Genius!
Mr. Beaux and I went to Lowe's over the weekend
and found one for $23.99 that matched
the other fixtures perfectly
and when the plumbers came back
they installed the soap dispenser.
Now, this is certainly something
that we could have done on our own
but they were coming out to work
on the Master Shower anyway.
I know that it seems like such a small thing
but when you save that much money
you want to tell people about it!
It looks like it was always there.
And that's exactly what I was going for!
I'm glad I thought of it! *Wink*

ReplyDeleteSince you are selling your home that was a great option! We have one of those units too and I feel so much better about our water. I only buy bottled water when we're traveling otherwise we love our water. Best of luck on the sale of your home. I know another blogger who finally sold theirs and they had listed it a couple of years ago, pulled it, then re-listed it twice. I think this year is going to be better in the real estate market.
ReplyDeleteThat was very smart of you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!!Glad you thought of it ') ')
ReplyDeleteGood for your. That kind of thing never happens to me.
ReplyDeletePerfect..great idea..
ReplyDeleteCindy-- You smart girl you. Guess what? When we did our kitchen they drilled AN EXTRA hole in the granite....duh...We COULD have made them replace the whole thing but that would have been pretty stupid. anyway...we are the proud owners of a SOAP pump, too. lol Good luck selling your house. It is a lot of work getting ready, isn't it? xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you came up with a solution! That would have been quite a cost for a home on the market! Congrats on the savings. Your kitchen is just beautiful, by the way :-)
