I hope you all had a great weekend!
My weekend was downright boring and dull!
But it was my choice
because I was nursing a sinus infection
due to our ever changing weather
here in the Midwest.
I tried to stay inside and rest
but you know how that goes...
I ended up moving furniture around
and packing a lot of my dishes that I don't use.
Mr. Beaux thinks I am crazy
but my theory is
that it all has to get packed eventually
and if I am productive then I feel like
I am moving forward
and not stuck in a holding pattern.
OK, follow along while I lead you
through the changes...
Remember the pretty china hutch
that I bought for the Living Room
and was in the process of refinishing?
Yeah, well it never got
much past this stage here.
Oh Boy!
I just didn't have a big chunk
of time to devote to it.
So, we had a friend come over
and help us move it out
to the garage this past week.
So, then I had a big blank
wall staring at me...
I had the sofa up against the wall
for about a minute and
that made the wall even larger.
I put my two Bergere chairs
on that side of the room
and searched around for
artwork for the wall.
Remember these botanical prints
that I framed for the kitchen a while back?
They were down in storage
so I had Mr. Beaux hang them
up for me on Sunday.
And just in time too!
We had another showing Sunday afternoon.
Didn't he do a great job?
He was really my hero this weekend!
He fixed our shower so that it has
awesome water pressure now,
painted the messed up ceiling
in the foyer with an exact
paint match (not easy to do),
ran a million errands
while I was sick
and brought me chicken soup!
The height of the pictures balances
out the fireplace on the other side
of the room and because they are all in
the same frame they look neat and tidy.
In the photos the wall looks
much larger than it really is...
I placed my tray table in between
the two chairs and used
just a few accessories.
The power of three!
Keeping the clutter down is important!
I selected the blue and white plate
to bring the colors from the fireplace
shelves over to this side of the room.
I placed the plate on the vintage books
so that the heights would be varied as well.
The showing on Sunday went well
according to the feedback.
But the realtor says that
"she doesn't know where they are"
which means that we are still
in our holding pattern...
But I will continue to move forward
by packing more boxes
(a co-worker brought me a car-full today)
and de-cluttering...
Until Next Time,

ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI love that whole area, the 2 chairs with the table in between and the picture were the perfect finishing touch.
It looks very well done, and very classy...............will be praying for a sale soon. Our daughter and son-in-law
are trying to sell there townhouse quick so they can put an offer on a home..........they finally found one they
love and can afford.............so we are praying for a sale for them too, so will include you as well.
Hope you are feeling much better by now, but we will include a prayer for that too.
Blessings Hon, Nellie
Stunning room, beautiful staging - love the space and LOVE the newly hung artwork, it does wonders.
ReplyDeleteGL selling! It will be difficult leaving such a beautiful home.
I like the pictures there- great job! The table vignette looks wonderful. This time of year is tough to sell but spring seems to get people moving! Sorry you got sick- I had a sinus infection early January and though it wasn't terrible it seemed like the side affects were with me for 3 weeks. When I'm too sick to make meals my husband goes to the deli which makes me laugh. Your home is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty. The pictures are perfect for that wall. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me.
ReplyDeleteHi, just want to say that everything looks wonderful! Good luck on your showings too! I know that it can be a stressful time. Love your blog.

ReplyDeleteIt will be hard to leave this beautiful home, I know. I feel for you as we moved here 2 years ago and the packing took FOREVER! Thank God I had fabulous friends who helped. And we were VERY organized so it all went smoothly. Hope you are feeling better!!!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures just make the area look perfect. Love the chairs and tray table. Beautiful staging!!
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteThat Mr. Beaux is definitely a "keeper"!!!
I take it that by your 'holding pattern' you are preparing for an upcoming move.
Here's hoping for a quick $ale of your home, so that you may move forward with your plans!!!
Your living room is exquisite!!!
Fondly,
Pat
