Spring Pillows~It's All In The Details

I'm so happy that Spring is finally here!
I have been doing a bit of Spring transitioning
in the Kitchen and Hearth Room.
I was browsing through the Ballard catalog
a few weeks ago and I spied
these adorable floral pillows.
What made me look twice was the
edge treatment on the pillows.
They reminded me of the
pillows that I saw at Nell Hill's.
These were the pillows at Nell Hill's...
I love going there but...
their pillow covers are expensive...
And here are the Ballard pillows...
Not as many pleats but still adorable
AND they were only $33.00 with my discount.
They shipped them really fast too!
Sooooooo, on my to do list
was making envelope pillows out of
the fabric that I had left over
from the chair and ottoman that I had recovered.
It didn't take that long to make them
but it always seems like such a hassle
to get the sewing machine out etc...
In my next house I am determined
to have a room where I can keep ongoing projects
out and be able to close the door.
Oh wait...
Is that a Craft Room?
YES, I want a Craft Room!
Miss Beaux and I went to Target
on Saturday to get her a few things
before she headed back to school.
We have a Target Ritual...
First you get a Starbucks
and then you cruise EVERY aisle.
As we were cruising,
I saw these Initial pillow covers.
Of course they didn't have an "R"
so we kept walking and sure enough
we saw more of them displayed
on another endcap.
YAY!
They had an "R" and in the right color!
And look at the fabric on the back!
Perfect!
My Pottery Barn throw that I ordered
after Christmas coordinates as well.
I have washed this on gentle a few times
and just hung it dry
and it comes out just as soft as when I first got it.
I bought a potted Hydrangea at Costco
this weekend for my olive bucket.
I buy one every year
and keep it in the house for a while
before I plant it outside.
I had it by the French Doors
that go out to the deck.
I just put it here for the pictures...
I caught someone with four paws
chewing on the leaves
so now I have to find a place up high
where puppies can't get to it!
All of the pillow fabrics
go so well with the rug...
We spend a lot of time in this room,
I mean a LOT of time...
So it makes me happy
when I am surrounded by
pretty colors and patterns.
Now when we pull the ottoman up
to the sectional to put our feet up
the patterns all make sense together!
I don't know why I put off
making the Buffalo Checked pillows!
I think I am going to make a few more
while I have everything is out!
Don't forget about the Spring Giveaway
from Nana's Bungalow!

  5. I love your mix of pillow patterns! That throw is really nice, too. Our dog tends to chew on furniture rather than plant leaves :(

  8. All of your pillows look beautiful!! I love the birdy too....he just looks like spring on a pillow :^)
I don't have a craft room, but I do have a place for my machine to be open all the time. It is wonderful because I can sew any time I have 15 minutes free.
Blessings to you and happy Easter!

Your pillow are so soft and so pretty. I have a question ~ Did you recover your ottoman ??
If so was it difficult ~ I have an ottoman very similar in size to yours and would love to recover it.
