Thank you again
for all of your heartfelt comments
on my Living Room post yesterday.
I know that I don't often express my feelings
on this little design blog
but I am glad you were listening!
Did you see my Orchid arrangement
on my table yesterday?
Now here is a flower that lasts
a little longer than my Lilacs!
I wanted to show you how easy
it is to create an arrangement
like this for your table.
What I love about it is that it will be around
for such a long time.
Low Maintenance too!
I made this same arrangement last year
for the dining room.
It was great when the house
was up for sale because I never
had to worry about buying flowers.
I bought this large clam shell at Home Goods
a few years ago for about $20.00.
I love the aqua blue on the inside.
The Orchid came from Trader Joe's.
They have the best prices on flowers!
Last year I think I paid $9.00
and this one was $12.00.
I put some small river rocks
in the bottom of the shell
and put in the orchid and covered it
with Spanish Moss.
Easy!
I added some Beachy Accents to the table.
Hey, it's never too early
for a little bit of Summer is it?
A small glass container
with some baby starfish,
a rope ball,
and a pretty white starfish
all in a silver tray.
My dogs like to chew on these!
I hope they don't discover them!
I just bought a new Betty Lou Phillips book- Inspinrations from France and Italy the other day at Barnes and Noble.
I was looking for the French Country Style
magazine where Kim at Savvy Southern Style
made the cover.
I found the magazine AND this book!
It's great rainy day reading!
Thanks for visiting.
Are you decorating for Summer yet?
Or am I crazy?
Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves

Started yesterday. Brought out the sea shells...
ReplyDeleteI usually wait until May 1st at least. But lets face it, yesterday was 8n the mid 80's and today was a predicted 90. It never made it higher than 83 due to the storms. But yup... summer is here for North Central Florida. Will be adding as the days go by....
Hugs, Gee
I love that Betty Lou Phillips book. Your arrangement looks fabulous. I just picked up a covered dish in a similar color for my living room. Trying to sneak in a little blue but it can't be strong. I like the orchid in the clam shell- great looking!
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteOrchids are such pretty plants......and great that they are so easy to maintain. Your coffee table looks lovely with
that nice summer vignette. No, I am still decorating for Spring.....sorta got a late start and had a lot of Easter things
I put out but will be taking them down in the next few days and replacing it with more Spring things......
The way Iook at life is if that makes you happy to decorate for Summer now, it is really no one elses business,
cause don't know about you but I decorate to make myself and my family happy and if others like it fine, and if
they don't oh well...................so good for you!!
Thanks for your answer to my comments about your living room.
Blessings,
Nellie
Do you have a post on that great bar behind the orchid? Love it….and the Venetian (?) art…..
ReplyDeleteGreat arrangement for your orchid! I'm going to try something like it for mine as it doesn't seem too happy in its current pot. Love the beach arrangement! Summer or not, I always have a nod or two towards the beach as I can't stand to be away from it! Your room looks awesome! Thanks for sharing! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteThe orchids are lovely. I don't have to much luck with them myself. I had a beautiful plant that was a gift but unfortunately it didn't make it. I love the beachy theme. Doesn't feel any where like beach weather here at all.
ReplyDeleteLove this arrangement and the vignette along side. Orchids are very pretty. I can't wait to get my decorating juices flying again.

ReplyDeleteBest wishes,

ReplyDeleteI love your orchid set on that great shell bowl with the moss, thank you so much for the inspiration.

Gorgeous vignette. Orchids is the only living plants inside the house as GH & I are allergic. It really sucks but healthy comes first.
ReplyDeleteHappy mid-week.
