After taking down all of the Christmas decor
I always feel a little lost and lonely.
All of those warm and wonderful colors of the season
are packed away and I am left with lots of blank spaces.
I don't quite feel like pops of bright colors yet.
I want to ease into Spring and enjoy this Winter weather
and the simplicity of my decluttered spaces.
It gives my mind something to look forward to
and gives me time to plan and dream of the warmer weather.
Especially when it looks like this outside.
No Pic Monkey here, that is real fluffy white snow!
I started with the space we spend the most time in:
The Kitchen Hearth Room.
I left all of the white dishes above the Kitchen Cabinets
along with the lights and greenery.
It looked wintery to me
and I liked the glow the little lights give off at night.
I also left this lantern up above the Dish Cupboard.
I filled it with some snowy greens and white candles.
The white bowl that I grew my paperwhites
in is now filled with pinecones.
I can't believe how tall my paperwhites were!
Miss Beaux didn't like the way they smelled
so she was happy to see them go.
I filled the inside of the Dish Cupboard
with silver and white dishes.
I am really loving the way the silver shines
with the lights inside of the cupboard.
I set my little bottle brush trees from the Dollar Store
on the vintage ironstone.
I love using what I have around the house
to change things up.
It is always more challenging and more cost effective
to scour the house and find "like" items.
It's like a scavenger hunt!
Here are some "new to me" pewter napkin rings.
They are the cutest little animal shapes!
I can't wait to use them in a tablescape.
I mixed the metals by using this Copper footed piece.
I am crossing my fingers that Copper
comes back into fashion.
I really love the warmth and the patina that it takes on.
I filled it with small silver trays.
White plates stacked up like pancakes (January dieting stinks!) with a few pinecones.
And a large silver bowl with neutral linens
all found at Estate Sales.
Estate Sales...
they always taper off during the winter months!
Oh well, I will have to haunt the Antique Malls instead
(or keep cleaning out my storage area
and see what I uncover).
Doesn't this look simple but elegant?
It's quite a change from Christmas!
And here it is all in one shot.
I have more to show you so make sure you check in on me!
Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves
XO Cindy

I love how you styled that cabinet, Cindy. I say copper is always in.
ReplyDeleteLove the white...It looks so wintery. I live in Florida and would Welcome ***SNOW*** :)
ReplyDeleteTis the Season for Winter beauty! Your place looks wonderful. Love the white dishes, metal trays in copper and pine cones. The greens with white look so crisp and clean.
ReplyDeleteGod bless and may you have a pleasant Winter,
d on the prairie
Beautiful winter whites!! Love how you accessorized your black hutch! Above my kitchen cabinets are still empty, trying to figure out a new look for up there.
ReplyDeleteCindy, everything looks so pretty! I left my white dishes above the cabinets, as well! I think it really brightens my kitchen; so, they may be there to stay for awhile. Love the mix of metals. Williams-Sonoma has a mix of white dinnerware, copper and stainless steel pots on display. (If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me!! LOL!) So, I didn't think copper ever went out of style. I keep my collection of copper pots on my pot rack year 'round. Love copper!! Your vignettes are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you do winter!
ReplyDeleteOh, Cindy- it all looks so beautiful. I love the way you celebrate winter - it is very nice to look at, definately!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about Paper Whites, they're nice but whew so STRONG.
Happy New Year!
It's so beautiful. I feel a lot like you ... sort of caught in the middle after the BIG decor of the fall & Christmas season. I don't seem to have much direction til March when I put out my spring decor. You, however, have done a great job. I'm inspired.
ReplyDeleteThat cabinet is beautiful and I love how you have decorated it. Definitely looks all wintery.
ReplyDeleteI really like the way you do Winter, Cindy. Your cabinet looks really nice and I love the splash of copper- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Wow us Wednesdays and following you now. This is a gorgeous post!
ReplyDeleteI love the icy winter feel.
Love all the silver pieces - so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm always stumped to know how to decorate after Christmas also. You created a very elegant and perfect wintry feel to your home.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
So very pretty. Elegant is the word!

Why worry about what's 'in', that's just someone else's opinion......use what you enjoy looking at and what means something to you......
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty and wintery! My fave is the linens and the pewter napkin rings.
ReplyDeleteYou've got two of my favorites...white dishes and silver pieces. I love your wintery look and your snow. We'll be in the 50's this weekend so all of our snow will be gone. Thanks so much for sharing and giving inspiration for a beautiful winter home.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful...I love your winter decor and the pic of the snow is fantastic!....
ReplyDeleteI just love everything that you showed. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove it all. I have white pieces and silver out all the time. (Silver is not real but Wilton Armetale and it looks good to me)
ReplyDeleteLovely, Cindy! I love how you have the white dishes and greenery on top of your cabinets. I was thinking the other day of going back up to the attic and getting my white lights down again to put on top of mine. Your silver trays inside the copper container are great, too. Love all the shapes and sizes.
ReplyDeleteGreat winter styling! I love metals, especially silver and copper. Both never go out of style at our house...along with white dishes.
ReplyDeleteBabs
Beautiful white dishes above your cabinets! They look really lovely. I especially like your dish cabinet and how you decorated it! Love the mix of the metals, dishes and linens! I need to assess my china cabinet and make it more creative!
ReplyDeleteLove all of your beautiful silver and creamy whites! My favorite is your large lantern with candles. Oh, and I adore your large silver bowl with linens. Your home is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love the white and black contrasts. Yes taking down the Christmas decor left me kind of sad, but my sister seriously gave me a porcelain white elephant and it sits in the middle of my coffee table making me smile. Happy New Year to you and your mom.
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteI am quite smitten with your cupboard filled with Winter White!!!
Love the ironstone and the greenery above the cupboards, too!!!
I have one copper piece from our travels in Europe. I adore it!
Never can get the English ivy to grow in it like the Europeans, though.
This Fall, while visiting an Antique Mall in another State,
I saw my piece all dressed with faux ivy and a bird's nest.
I'm certainly going to give it a try for a Spring vignette!!!
Fondly,
Pat
P.S. Visiting from Common Ground!
