Christmas Curb Appeal

Well it has hardly seemed like winter here
according to weather
but this week the temps got a little cooler.
I guess I just wasn't in the mood to decorate outside
when it was in the 60's.
But once the clouds came in this week
and we got a little chill in the air
it was time to get out there
and create some
Christmas Curb Appeal!
Remember my new bench from this past spring?
Well, it got all dressed up for Christmas
with plaid, and green and red.
I used items that I had around the house,
mostly from Estate Sales
and my sled from the Goodwill.
I found these ice skates for $2.00
at an Estate Sale and snatched them up.
I had fun putting some of my Martha Stewart Glitter on them.
Don't they look all snowy and shiny?
They really sparkle in the sun!
Here is a better picture of how pretty they really look.
I warned the family that they had better not sit still too long
or I would glitter them up too!
I have been glaming up all kinds of things around the house.
What doesn't look better with a little glitter?
Along with the ice skates, I added some fresh greenery
and a red pretty bow with some jingle bells to the sled.
I wrapped my outdoor pillow with some festive ribbon
and placed it on the plaid Pendelton blanket.
The urn was dressed up with a wreath
and some fresh greens too.
I created a welcoming front door entrance
by filling my urns with loads of
greenery and lights.
I added real wreaths to the front doors and
tied a red bow to the bottom.
I started with the center stakes
that I bought this summer at Nell Hill's
and then added light branches from Target.
I am embarrassed to say that my pots stayed naked
for a week with only the stakes and the light sticks in them.
I was just not motivated to finish!
You can see that I wrapped some greenery roping
around the edge of the pot.
Then I stuck the greens inside of the stake.
I used greenery from my local nursery
that they sell by the pound.
I finished it with red berries and pine cones.
Side Note~ My dog loves these berries and if she finds them on the floor she eats them!
I have to be careful to clean up my mess
when I am decorating so they don't get on the floor.
Last year in one of my very first posts
I showed you my Lanterns in these urns.
It was one of my most Pinned projects!
You can see my post here.
I love to look back and see what I was up to a full year ago.
My window boxes got all gussied up too
with fresh greens and some large ornaments.
I'm sure I copied this from Pinterest.
All I need now is some SNOW!!!

Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves,
XO Cindy

  3. Cindy, your front entry looks so pretty! Lol...our minds must think alike. I put a stake in the urns out front, too and laid wreaths down over them, to use as a base. Then, I filled them in with greens and accents. Yours look great; and I love the bench vignette! So festive and welcoming!
