I apologize for not posting sooner!
I think I am still recovering
from all of the house guests
and Graduation festivities...
It was a flurry of activity
from last Thursday until Tuesday
of this week when
the last of the family (my mom)
was off on a jet plane.
I want to share some of the things
that we did for Miss Beaux on her special day.
She didn't want an Open House Party...
She wanted an intimate dinner
with family and friends instead...
She is SO my daughter!
We celebrated at Lidia's in Kansas City.
Chef Lidia Bastianich has her own cooking show
you might be familiar with.
Wonderful food and great company!
I created a poster for her
that everyone signed at the dinner.
I plan on framing it for her later.
I am so proud of my baby girl!
Here is her banner that we all put together
and held up as she walked across
the stage that night.
You can see even the dog got into the shot.
Our family shot right before
we left for the ceremony!
She went separately on the bus
with her schoolmates.
On the bus, each child received
a handwritten letter from their parents.
I thought that was a wonderful touch.
I remembered that we did that for my son also.
Makes me cry just thinking about it!
Another fun thing that we did
was decorating her Mortarboard.
It seems to be a trend
that I had never heard of until recently.
You can see a lot of the decorated caps here.
She also put one of her favorite quotes
on the inside of the cap.
We packed a LOT into the weekend!
My oldest son said
"Look out folks, Mom is like a hurricane right now,
the best thing to do is board up the windows
and wait out the storm".
Yep!
That pretty much describes it!
But we had a lot of laughs too!
These are the memories that will last a lifetime!
Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves,
Wonderful congrats to your pretty graduate! I wish her well on her journey!
ReplyDeleteNice post- always neat to see what blog friends have been up to doing!
Have a much needed relaxing weekend - safe and sound and fun,
Many congrats to all of you Cindy! Our youngest is receiving his Master of Epidemiology from Harvard next Thursday and I am just giddy with anticipation. At every milestone there's so much pride and joy at a child's achievements. I wish Emily all the best that life has to offer in the days ahead, and as much happiness as her heart can hold. I'm planning on writing a letter to our son and giving it to him the night before his ceremony. I don't know where to begin, haha! Again, congratulations to you all. Best always, Deena
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Emily...I know you were so thrilled and how wonderful to have family make the journey.
ReplyDeleteFantaaaaaaaaastic!!!! Congratulations all around!
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to celebrate and looks like everyone had a great time including the graduate herself.
That was so cute that they decorate their hats, never heard of that before, but so cute.
Also loved the letter idea............She is a very pretty girl and I know you are proud as punch...........
Congratulations to Miss Beau.............oh yea, and loved her lil flag sign, another cute idea.
Although these are exciting times they are also bittersweet......and exhausting with all the
emotional things that go on within us and them at these Hallmark times of life..................
So you do need a pause to let your emotions settle and to catch your breathe..........
Blessings to you all,
Nellie
