Natural Thanksgiving Centerpiece

I wanted to try a more rustic look this year
so I created this easy
Thanksgiving Centerpiece
using branches and leaves from my yard.
All of the items used (except the candles)
are Estate Sale finds that I have been gathering
together these past few months.
I found this great rustic candle holder for under $20.00
at a recent sale.
This is something that I have always wanted but never wanted to pay full price.
I bet you could make one easily out of barnwood.
I layered my burlap runner on top of a warm plaid
Pendleton Throw in caramel, rusts and browns.
I cut a few branches from my evergreen trees and laid them along the sides of the candleholder.
I love the way the pine looks against the burlap
and the rustic wood.
I added some other greens from my blue spruce and some juniper too.  I know you can see my mixed matched candles in these pictures.  I scrounged around to try to come up with 12 but I finally gave up and headed out to Michaels.
Don't you hate that when you are all cozy in your sweats with
your hair up and no makeup
and you find out you have to go out?  UGH!!!
Well, today they got me as I was, no makeup and everything!
For more of a Fall look I tucked in some oak leaves and other leaves from the yard but without them this would work for Christmas or Wintertime.
I placed some apples and cranberries around because I really want Apple Pie and my mom makes
THE BEST cranberry sauce!
But I'll wait a few weeks I guess.
I love seeing all of the candles lit.
So pretty and so simple.
I am working on the whole Thanksgiving tablescape that I will share with you next week.
I'm having fun with this rustic look.
I even tried using green apples instead of candles.
You could even core out the apples and put candles in them.
It's beginning to feel winter-like almost around here.
I actually had to put a coat on the other day.
Thanksgiving will be here before you know it!
So many things to do between now and then.
If you find yourself running short of time why not try my simple rustic centerpiece.

Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves
XO Cindy

  4. Gorgeous! I really love the looks you've shown us here! I think many of us are in the mood to "go simple" for the holidays this year, with things we have on hand plus natural elements.

  5. Excellent! I enjoy rustic too. I wish I could have a cabin to decorate this way. I think the candles inside the apples would be awesome! It's very cool here and you can feel winter is on it's way! I think that's why the smells from the kitchen are so great at this time of year- the crisp outdoor weather vs. the yummy scents from things like appple or pumpkin pie! I like how you decorated with the pine trimmings and the cranberries! Looking good!

  6. It'll sure feel like winter this weekend, that's for sure! Right now it's pretty nice out, but change is a'comin'!!! :-) This looks really great, Cindy, and what I like most about it is its versatility. I can see this fabulous piece being used year round for various occasions. You demonstrated just how easily a whole new look can be achieved with just a few tweaks. Perfect! Oh, and hey...the stores get me without a drop of makeup on, too. They don't care. As long as the money is coming in, you could walk in there with a toad on your head and they wouldn't care! Have a good weekend!!!!

  7. Cindy, I love your natural centerpiece...both ways! Lol! Love the way you used natural greens and leaves with something so rustic to create a great centerpiece! This would look awesome on a kitchen island, too!

  8. Love it with the apples Cindy. I go out with makeup all the time. When I let my hair go grey everyone began not to notice me anyway-it is rather freeing and insulting at the same time. xo, olive

  9. Ooh...ideas galore! I love these. I have been seeing ladies laying down wood planks to support their natural centerpieces and I want to try something like that. I need to dig into the shed.

I concur with you on the running out when you all all nestled inside in your sweats and no makeup. I had to run out to the pharmacy this morning while my bath was being caulked and I think I scared a few people!

    XO,
    Jane

  14. Beautiful centerpiece! You made my head go in spinning mode! Do I have a chunky piece of wood to create something like that?? Well I got to find it! :)

Oh Cindy, you got a no-reply address! It also happened to me when I changed to Google+! I went like that for months until somebody told me!
