Hey There Delilah

I'd like you to meet Delilah, my new chair.
Yes, I've named my chair Delilah.
I remember my mom playing that Tom Jones song repeatedly on our stereo.  Ok, I just looked up the lyrics.  Kinda depressing but still a catchy tune.
Maybe I named the chair after
The Plain White T's Delilah song:
"Hey there Delilah... Tonight you look so pretty!"
In any case the name is staying.
I found Delilah at an Estate Sale on Thursday morning.
Here she is down in the basement hanging out with a shabby wing back and some faded wicker.  I knew that she didn't belong there in the dark basement
sitting there like a wallflower waiting
for her prince (or princess) to come and rescue her.
"Hey nobody puts my Delilah in a corner!"
I looked at her price and had to put my reading glasses on to be sure that I had seen it correctly.
(OK, I had to put them on just to see anyway).
 $55.00?
I took a closer look.  She was recently slipcovered in this pretty floral material.  Someone had done a fantastic job with the piping and a zipper on the side.
SOLD!!!  In the car she went.
All she needed was a little light and the right setting to make her a star!
She is now in the Master Bedroom next to the Settee and the Armoire.  She's keeping better company these days.  I tried her out with a few side tables.
What do you think?
Blue telephone table or round wood table?
This wood table floats around the house and has a nice inlay on the top with a wire trim.
I've had it for years.
I framed these prints yesterday.  I bought these botanicals at an Estate Sale a while back for 50 cents each.  I picked up some frames at Michaels yesterday.  They were 40% off.  I found the mattes on clearance for $2.50.  This is what they looked like when I bought them.
They had a brown inner matting.  I took that out and it also gave me a larger space for the prints.
I love the way they turned out.  I figure they cost me about $23.00 apiece.  I framed two on each side of the Armoire.  I was thinking of dry brushing a little white on the frames but we'll see.
Thanks for stopping by to meet Delilah!

ps. see how I fluffed up her sagging seat HERE.
(Hey, it happens to the best of us)
Until Next Time,
Beaux R'eves,
XO Cindy

  10. Delilah is beautiful. I think her boring brothers live with me. Their bare legs are showing, and I like her outfit much better. You got a great deal on her.

  23. I'm impressed with both "Delilah" and the botanicals. I often buy ready made frames at Hobby Lobby/Michaels -- you can usually find something suitable and so much cheaper! I like that you tok off the brown part of the mat -- they look more classic that way.
